1st oil painting

This was my first attempt to oil paint and let me say I did learn alot with this painting.
10" x 16" Stretched canvas

I think with each painting you can learn something new.

Here is what I learned:

1. Never use Gesso when wet to mix with oil paints (Gesso is acrylic based and oil paints are well oil)
2. Wait for gesso to dry then use either liquid white, Clear or Black for the wet on wet technique.
3. Invest in some good brushes.
4. Use some type of thinner on paints either Paint thinner or an oil like linseed oil. Not sure yet, i have seen some examples of painter using both.
